Consistent Action: The Force That Shapes Your Life

You may have heard the saying, “you eat an elephant one bite at a time.” Even if the metaphor makes you a little queasy, the point is a valid one: to tackle something big, you just have to start.
Action is the most important of all powers in Success Principles. You may have all the knowledge in the world, yes, but if you do not take any action and apply that knowledge, there is no use of it. Like I say to my friends, knowledge not put to use is useless and irrelevant.

The power of action is undoubtedly an extremely important part of realizing and utilizing the unlimited potential that has been provided and made available to you. Action leads to momentum, and momentum is powerful.

No secret there right?

Many people have ideas, dreams and passion that they’ll never pursue. Some fear failure and others fear the unknown. I was one of those people. Not until I took the bold step to engage myself in consistent act of self development, I was a loyal slave to low self esteem and procrastination. Why wait and crumble in self pity when you have all the power to get all you want in life?

There is something magical about the concept of, ‘just doing it’. According to Marie Forleo, “Action is magic. When you start taking consistent action, you will see results.”.  The smallest action is better than the best intention. All the best intentions in the world can’t stack up against even the smallest action. No one gets to the mountain top with pocketed hands. Success is a serious business.

You know why majority of people never reach their full potential and excel in life? Why they spend a life of mediocrity? It is because of two reasons; first they do not have a dream backed with plan and second even if they do have a dream they never take any action. “Do you want to know who you are”? says Thomas Jefferson “Don’t ask. Act! Action will delineate and define you.” To be phenomenal, you must act.

There are great numbers of talents in this world. There are more people who go to their graves with their music, books, mega organizations, innovation and idea still inside them. They spend their entire life wishing; ‘I wish I had more money,’ ‘Oh! I wish had a better job’, ‘I wish I had better education.’ The problem is that they keep on wishing, but they never turn their wishes to dreams and goals and never really take any action towards it. To be all you can be takes consistent action.

Taking action can seem particularly hard when you’re facing a big decision. While some amount of planning, preparation and deliberation is important, the reality is that taking action, even small ones, will have a compounding effect to carry you forward toward and through the big decisions. Know that it is your decisions, and not your condition, that determine your destiny.
