According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way that a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyways. Because bees don’t care what humans think is impossible.
It’s not the feather, it’s you! You can fly.
Self – belief are thought to be the way that you feel about your skills, abilities, looks and behaviours. By definition, self-belief means to have faith in or trust yourself.
It is developed from inside; the power base of energy that you were born with. Most people are unaware of this super power that they can tap into to make their dreams come through. So often, we are seduced into believing that events control our lives and that our environment has shaped who we are today. No greater lie was ever told. It’s not the event of our lives that shape us, but our beliefs as to what those events mean.
How many things have you not done or tried because you lacked belief in yourself? Many fail to believe in themselves because others didn’t believe in them. But as William J. H. Boetcker deftly put it: “Your success depends mainly upon what you think of yourself and whether you believe in yourself.”
YOU CAN DO IT!
Self-belief comes not just by trying to convince yourself that you can do stuff. But true self-belief actually comes from the conscious act of developing the vision that you can relax socially, start that business, write that book, learn that skill or whatever it is, you need to believe you can do it or be it. Perhaps the hardest thing to do in life is to accept how extraordinary you really can be, believe in yourself, and then incorporate this awareness into your attitude and personality.
Self-belief is vital. It gives you the freedom and confidence to make mistakes and cope with setback by seeing them for what they are: temporary setbacks, not the end of the world. And something else you’ll notice: As your self -belief grows, people around you start to believe in you more, too. Because it really isn’t the feather – it’s you.
Lack of self-belief can be paralysing and keep you stuck in fear and negative thinking, perpetuating a cycle of self-doubt and failure.
